WP Wall – Get more interaction from your readers

Another Wordpress plugin tip here!

Comments are a great way to touch base with your readers, but it’s generally only on the subjects you post about. Have you ever wanted a way for them to post a question to you out of the confines of a single post, without having to email you?

If you have, there’s a great Wordpress plugin called WP-Wall. I don’t believe the original intention was necessarily to use it this way, but I think it’s really cool to allow readers to direct questions to you on your main blog page. They actually come in as comments, so you would approve them the way you normally do, but once approved, they sit out on your sidebar (within a widget) for everyone to see. No more having an excellent reader question tucked away within a single post somewhere.

Here’s a great example by Rich Rogala over at Consistent Clients using this tool.
